A tired business centre off the A2 needed new floors in every let space — while every space stayed let. The landlord had used us before for his own kitchen, so he knew the question to ask: not “how much”, but “how do you keep fifteen tenants trading?”

The brief
Every office was occupied and the ground-floor shop traded six days a week. The existing carpet was twenty years old and the corridors had four different floor levels. The landlord wanted one coherent finish that would survive another twenty years.
What we specified
Karndean LooseLay in the shop, reception and corridors — it goes down fast over a levelled subfloor and any plank lifts if a tenant’s fit-out changes. Heckmondwike carpet tiles in the offices for acoustics and easy repair.
How we programmed it
We worked 6pm to 2am, two offices per night with the corridor outside them, furniture moved and put back before the tenant arrived. The shop was done over a single Sunday. Marc walked the building with the landlord each morning.
Reception
Carpet tile
Fitting★★★★★“The job was superbly carried out by a very skilled work force who just got on with it and clearly knew their stuff. Afterwards, all the other building contractors who had been on site remarked what a great job they had done — a quality company.”
